New Jersey has an abundance of restaurants in its cities, suburbs and along the shore. While many are amazing dining destinations, some of our most magical dining spots are in more secluded areas. You’ll enjoy a sense of peace as you eat, surrounded by nothing but nature. One restaurant that perfectly fits the bill is the Bait Box, at the Hancock Harbor Marina.
The Bait Box is a seafood spot located in historic Greenwich, along the Cohansey River.
You won't find much for miles, other than farmland and wildlife management areas. This restaurant isn't located in a bustling metropolis, but rather on the outskirts of Greenwich Township, one of five Tea Party towns during the Revolutionary War. The site of the Greenwich Tea Party, a load of tea meant for Philadelphia was burned in the night.
The restaurant has plenty to offer, including Liquid Therapy, an outdoor boat bar.
A relaxing spot with views of the water, dogs are welcome for Yappy Hour on Thursdays. You can score a free draft on Crab Night (Wednesday), with the purchase of a dozen crabs. You'll also enjoy live music on summer Fridays.
Pictured is the Teriyaki filet and shrimp. You'll also find a variety of lunch and dinner options including sriracha deviled eggs, seafood pasta (with shrimp, mussels, crab meat, lobster, clams and scallops), fried calamari and prime rib cheesesteak. The menu isn't massive, but there's something for everyone. You can even build your own burger.

The interior of the restaurant is warm and welcoming.
It's a casual, laid back dining experience with a friendly staff, fun decor (a boat hangs from the ceiling) and loads of windows, to see the spectacular surroundings. What might you see? A UFO! Not quite, but there is a very alien-esque Futuro home on the property.
But, best of all, you'll get to enjoy scenes like this.
I can't imagine many better places to be at sunset. Spectacular food and enchanting views always pair perfectly.
There’s something special about dining at a restaurant while knowing that there aren’t throngs of people nearby. It gives you a sense of peace and quiet, even with all that’s going on at the eatery. Visit The Bait Box at 30 Hancock Harbor Road, Greenwich. For another secluded restaurant in New Jersey, check out the Walpack Inn, hidden away in the heart of the woods.
