As a peninsula, New Jersey is surrounded by water on three sides. We also have plenty of rivers, lakes, streams and ponds making their way throughout the state. Residents are never far from a beautiful body of water and stunning waterfront parks, restaurants, and scenic spots. The following are some of my favorite beach, river and lakefront places and spaces.
This gorgeous state park surrounds Shepard Lake, Rindwood Mill Pond and several smaller bodies of water. Enjoy swimming, boating, fishing, gardens and historic homes on the property.
Relive Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware and immerse yourself in history at this charming state park. Enjoy a museum, historic home and stunning trails along the waterfront.

This gorgeous wildlife refuge is a bird watcher's paradise.
One of the most photographed buildings in America, the gorgeous Red Mill Museum sits along the banks of the Raritan River.
This unique historical lighthouse operates as a museum and offers incredible views. The site was selected as the location for the first official reading of the Pledge of Allegiance as America’s national oath of loyalty back in 1893! How cool is that?
This modern lighthouse seems out of place among Jersey City's towering steel structures. The lighthouse and surrounding park offer great views of Jersey City and Lower Manhattan.
Hereford Lighthouse is the only Swiss Gothic residential lighthouse on the East Coast. It is well known for its award-winning gardens.
