This One Easy Hike In New Hampshire Will Lead You Someplace Unforgettable
New Hampshire is full of great hikes, but some of them can be intimidating, or downright inaccessible to the average person. Luckily, one of the most beautiful hikes in New Hampshire is also one of the easiest. On West Rattlesnake Mountain in Holderness, you will enjoy a simple hike, but the real treat is the view from the top.

This amazing view of Squam Lake looks like someplace that would take all day to hike to, but really the trail is just two miles round trip, and an easy incline that is accessible to even the smallest hikers.

Or those who have been around quite a bit longer!

To start your hike, take route 113 north from Holderness for about 4 miles. The parking area for Rattlesnake Mountain will be on the left, and the trailhead will be across the road. Old Bridle Path - just a mile long to the top - is well kept and stairs make the steeper portions easy to tackle.

Follow that trail for .9 miles, until you come to the end. From there, it's a simple .1 mile walk along Ridge Trail to enjoy rocky outcrop and a beautiful view.

The real treat, of course, is the view from Rattlesnake Mountain over Squam Lake, dotted with islands.

Even the little ones will be in awe of this view.

Because the trail is so easy, it's possible to enjoy this hike to Rattlesnake Mountain all year along.

On the way down, be sure to look for hidden gems, like this little waterfall.

And although this is an easy hike, you may just want to sit for a moment to enjoy the New Hampshire woods.

Before you round up a group of friends and do it all again!

That's a great hike!
