When most people think of the The Kancamagus Highway in Northern New Hampshire, they think about jumping in the car and taking a beautiful drive. While it’s true that this 34 mile scenic highway stretching from Lincoln to Conway is a fantastic road trip, we like the idea of stopping for some hikes along the way. If you plan on doing that, check out these trails. They’re some of the best!
One of the most well-known trails along the Kanc, Sabbaday Brook is also one of the most busy. That's for good reason! You can access the Sabbaday Falls from here!
The Bolles Trail often goes hand in hand with the Champney Brook Trail as it comes directly off this rote. The trail connects hikers to the Champney Brook Trail, completing the Champney Falls Loop. To access the trail head, go to the parking lot on the side of the Kancamagus Highway.

On this trail, you'll be heading north. If you choose to take this trail, you'll pass the Passaconaway Historic Site as well as the Campground. The trail also offer a way to get to Brunel Trail, which is about a mile from the parking area.

On this route you'll be heading south from the parking lot. About 2 miles in you'll find the Passaconaway Cutoff and after about 4 miles you'll arrive at Paugus Pass.
Located on the East side of the Kancamagus Highway, this beautiful trail leads to the Red Ridge. From here it goes North connecting to the Red Ridge Trail. The route also allows visitors access to the Attitash Trail.
This beautiful route connects to the Middle Sister Trail. Once here you can take it over Three Sisters and Blue Mountain. To continue to you also connect to Piper Trail, taking you to the bottom of Mt. Chocorua.
You'll start this hike on the east side of the Kanc. It makes a full route in the shape of a circle around a number of large boulders before returning back to the trail head.
